Cow Farts Will Kill The Planet?

By Mike Michalak Apr 28, 2021 | 7:31 AM

Popular food and cooking website Epicurious announced earlier this week that it will no longer include beef in any of its recipes or articles, although existing recipes that contain beef will remain available.  The site, which is owned by Conde Nast, said they’re making the change to encourage more sustainable cooking and help fight climate change, since nearly 15 percent of global greenhouse emissions are from livestock, and most of it from cows.  Epicurious said in a tweet about the news, “This isn’t a vendetta against cows or people who eat them. It’s a shift about sustainability; not anti-beef but pro-planet.”  This isn’t actually a new thing for the site, which noted that it stopped publishing most beef-centric recipes about a year ago.  Now, think about that for second.  They’re not publishing beef recipes because cows pass gas.  I’ll bet more recipes use milk there, Mr. Epicurious.  Where’s your mooving boycott now, eh?
