Don’t Know How To Title This…

By Mike Michalak Jan 3, 2022 | 8:18 AM

On my Morning Hodag broadcast, when it’s snowing, or raining or foggy I’m typically railing on drivers for not having their headlights on.  The worst thing automakers ever did was make those lights automatic.  That thing you’re driving can’t tell just because it’s bright out that you can’t see 10 feet in front of you.  That means the poor driver coming at you can’t see you either.  The same goes this time of year for ice anglers.  While it’s safe on many waters right now to walk, some are in no shape for ATVs, snowmobiles or, believe it or not, a vehicle.  With apologies to Watersmeet, Michigan, some nimrod dropped a truck through the ice on the Willow Flowage over the weekend.  Luckily just the front end dipped in but it’s an expensive proposition to get it pulled out.  For cryin’ out loud, please check conditions before doing something like that.  If you’re out on a flowage or river, that’s moving water and ice can go from several feet to just a few inches pretty quick.  Snowmobile trails are open but a lot of lakes aren’t marked yet, and it’s for that very reason.  Take it easy out there and use your head.  We want you around a while longer…
