Howdy, and welcome to another One To Watch! This week, we’re featuring singer/songwriter Madeline Merlo. Born in British Columbia, Canada, Merlo began to get noticed in the music world after posting YouTube videos of her songs. She was signed to a record label and according to her online bio, was awarded the Canadian Country Music Association’s Rising Star Award in 2015. Then in 2020, she won in an episode of the NBC series Songland, penning the tune “Champagne Night” that became a hit for Lady A.
This year, Merlo signed a record contract with BBR Music Group. The result is a four song EP that was released in September. The title track is our One To Watch song, Slide.
