Howdy, and welcome to another One To Watch! This week we’re featuring Chancey Williams, who is a rare breed. He’s a Saddle Bronc athlete who’s turned on-stage singer. It’s a rare occurrence, and according to his online bio, the only other artist to both compete in the rodeo and perform on the main stage at Cheyenne Frontier Days is Chris LeDoux.
Williams is from a small Wyoming town called Moorcroft, where he was brought up on a ranch. He later attended the University of Wyoming and earned several degrees, but the lure of music and the camaraderie of the road continues to take him all over the United States.
Since 2008 Williams has been self-producing his own music.
His latest tune is called Paycheck Down.
