Here we are winding down the month of June. If you’re like me, you’re enjoying the nice weather. Spring and summer are my favorite times of year, yet there is one thing I dread this time of year, and that is… road construction! It’s good to have an alternate route, preferably one that is familiar! A couple of weeks ago, with the Highway Eight construction south of Rhinelander, I decided to take Lake Julia Road to get to my destination. It had been raining, and there were numerous puddles on the roadway, however…. One of them hid a nasty pothole! “Thunk,” my front driver’s side wheel hit this hidden road crater, and yes, a few choice words came out of my mouth! Well, I have not returned to find out if it was repaired; hopefully, someone has reported it to the Highway Department. Usually, potholes are repaired by mid-spring; this one must have missed the radar. But, I digress! As we get closer to the Independence Day Holiday, always plan ahead if you plan to travel, be patient in traffic situations, especially road construction, and… keep an eye out for potholes!!
