Is it just me, or does Christmas start
earlier every year? Area stores are putting up trees, decorations, and gift displays before Halloween has even passed, while holiday commercials are already filling our TV screens.
I can see where retailers want to get an early jump on holiday shopping, and some people enjoy planning. But when Christmas arrives in October, it can make Halloween and Thanksgiving feel like afterthoughts. One classic example is the TV ads for Balsam Hill Christmas trees.
Part of what makes the holidays special is the anticipation. When we’re surrounded by Christmas marketing for months, some of that excitement gets lost.
That’s my two cents’ worth. Is it too early for Christmas displays and TV ads, or are you ready to start celebrating as soon as the lights go up? 🎄🎃 – Larry
