97.3 Hodag Country

Well, another election season is in the books,  and I am very happy that all those negative ads are finished, and like it or not, the Democrats made some big strides.

Across the country, Democrats picked up seats in districts and states that had been considered reliably Republican. Perhaps most notably, Democrats scored Senate victories in places such as Texas, Kansas, South Carolina, Iowa, and Ohio, states that have traditionally been difficult battlegrounds for the party.

Regardless of political affiliation, the 2026 midterms will be remembered as a pivotal moment. Control of Congress changed hands, political assumptions were challenged, and the road to the next presidential election became a bit more complicated. Two big factors over the past few months: the war with Iran and higher gas prices.

What’s ahead for our country?  Your guess is as good as mine. Listening to the news, some of the Democratic winners were pointing out that they will be willing to reach across party lines and make this country stronger…. Time will tell, I guess!    – Larry
