Howdy, and welcome to another One To Watch! Whenever possible, we try to feature local talent, and this week we’ve got the latest tune from a singer/songwriter/Northern Wisconsinite named Diamond The Kidd. Actually, his name is Cyle Vorlob, but as Diamond the Kidd, he’s been writing songs since the late nineties, and his first recordings came out when he an intern at a recording studio in Wisconsin. He later moved to Florida and recorded tunes there.
In his video bio, Kidd explains that music is such a passion for him that he sold his mix tapes out of his car to get his music out. Kidd eventually moved back to Wisconsin and now lives in Pine Lake, where he began to write some new music based on his life experience. His musical style is like that of Colt Ford, with a mix of country, rap, and soul.
Last year, he and his daughter, known professionally as Felicity Rae, went to Nashville to record a number of original tunes. One of Diamond The Kidd’s newest tunes is our One To Watch, Born In The USA.
