Howdy, and welcome to another One To Watch! This time around we’re featuring New Mexica-born, Frank Ray. If the name seems vaguely familiar, it’s because his song Country’d Look Good On You received some radio airplay in 2021. According to his online bio, Ray (real name Francisco Gomez) was raised listening to country music but also ranchera music, a genre of traditional Mexican music, and his sound is a combination of the two styles. After working as a police officer for ten years while doing side gigs, in 2017 Ray decided to go into music full-time.
His latest song is called, Somebody Else’s Whiskey.
