97.3 Hodag Country

I hate bye weeks. I lose those precious three hours to stuff around the house or to my “other” job in the video conversion business. It’s way too windy to fish because it’s difficult to control the boat by yourself. It’s also too warm to do anything outside for any length of time because I don’t feel like sweating my keister off (which it could use anyway!)
The wife is recuperating from two knee replacements and a fractured femur (!) so doing stuff together gets kind of tough. So, I’m picking apples after chasing off all the deer and the crop is good this season! There are only two weeks left for the Hodag Farmer’s Market so I’ll be able to get my Saturday’s back.
I mentioned fishing and I’m really looking forward to getting the new-to-me rig ready for muskie season. I know it’s open but I start mine in the late fall when the big girls play. The boat isn’t even fully rigged yet and I just found out there’s an automatic bilge pump on it because I was up early and heard the whirring. There’s been more water in it than under it! I didn’t know where to shut it off so I just disconnected the battery. I’ll have to spend some time with the owner’s manual.
Another project on my list (which grows exponentially, thanks, dear!) is to replace the speakers in the Jeep. One never learns that when the top is off, volume is not your friend. I blew three of the four speakers in it! I’ll wait ‘til things cool off a little, which is on the way…finally. It’s typical Wisconsin to have an 80° on the weekend and frost by Tuesday. I’m also working on my retirement…again. It was supposed to be the 19th of this month but we need the health insurance for the bride. So, we keep planning.  We have great insurance here at NRG and it’s going to be very difficult to match on the open market. That’s really the only thing holding it up, but it’s a pretty big thing. We’ll see what the future brings as I continue shopping around. That’s it for now. Until next time…
