Another blog and more about the Packers.  They make it so easy, sometimes.  I’ll begin with the worst part of the game…Drew Brees doing color for FOX.  Sorry guys, my granddaughter could have done a better job explaining things, which wasn’t done a lot and clearly being in New York’s corner didn’t help any.  I know it was the maiden voyage on that network but he was at NBC first to work out the kinks.  Looking online it appears a lot of fans thought he did fine.  I think they had the TV volume down and listened to the radio broadcast of the game, instead.

As for the game itself, another one stretched to no end with kinks of their own to still work on.  The Giants have only two wins and lost four straight going into the game but you wouldn’t know it the way their run game blistered our defense.  And the tackling?  Well let’s see, one play had the back six yards deep in the backfield but breaks the tackle and trots off for a first down.  Or, how about a quarterback sneak that goes for nearly TEN YARDS!  What’s up with that?

Now, Jordan Love was allowed some freedom and if his receivers could’ve hung onto the ball once in a while we would have had a better outcome.  In the scary moment he left the game, Malik Willis did what he’s supposed to do and drove for a score.  Credit Christian Watson for making spectacular catches, making both quarterbacks look good.

Josh Jacobs’ knee injury is day-to-day according to the team and hopefully he’ll be ready since the next three games up are all in the division.  And we CERTAINLY cannot allow the Bears to sit on top!

I’m not even going to address the kicking game.

Finally, Micah Parsons.  He finds a way to show up when you need something big to happen.

Eleven games in, the Pack is not yet a championship caliber team.  The injuries take a huge toll on that.  All the hoo-rah around Matt LaFleur’s play calling is nonsense for the most part.  Execution of that play calling is what’s needed.  Catch the ball when it’s thrown to you, keep the penalties down and play every down like the season depends on it.  Because it does, especially now.
