Spring is officially upon us, days are longer, warmer weather has arrived… and with that, for many of us, it’s spring allergy season!   Once most of the snow melts, it starts with patches of mold appearing on area lawns, which triggers a stuffed up nose, itchy watery eyes, sneezing, etc., and I’ve noticed myself that those allergy symptoms are kicking in!   Not fun at all!  Some tips to keep these symptoms at bay:   Keep windows and doors closed to keep those allergens outside.  Remove shoes before entering your home, this will significantly reduce the number of allergy triggers that can make it outside your home, and, limit your time outdoors, even as the weather improves, and the flowers are blooming, it’s a good idea to keep outdoor activities to a minimum, the less contact you have with mold, pollen and ragweed, the less likely you are to experience symptoms.    If all else fails, there are over-the-counter medications and nasal sprays that help significantly, including Nasacort and Afrin!  When in doubt, consult with your physician!
