I noticed, while driving by a local ranger station on Wednesday, that we are currently under a fire danger in the Northwoods due to dry conditions. With heavy rains on the way, I was thinking back to last week when I had to travel south to the New London area to run some errands.  Now I was aware of some flooding in the area due to the Wolf River overflowing.  Upon my arrival, I was surprised to find the entry to the city was blocked off.  I was able to travel around to get to my destination, but when I noticed numerous homes and farmlands underwater, with boats parked right up to several houses. probably with the worst flooding I’ve seen in all of my years here in the Badger State!  It’s amazing to see dry conditions in one part of our state, then travel 100 miles south to see another area dealing with major floodwaters.  I was just reading where New London was just getting back to normal after a week, with some parts of the city still closed off!   – Larry
