Well, another Hodag Country Festival is in the books, and I have to admit, my second Hodag was fun! A great line-up this year, with the return of Neal McCoy, along with Russell Dickerson, JoDee Messina, Mark Chestnutt, and LeAnn Rimes. It was fun running into old friends and family, and the weather did not disappoint either! Looking forward to the 49th Hodag in 2027. There are still plenty of summertime activities to check out, including the Saluting Heroes Balloon Rally at the Hodag Country Festival Grounds, July 31st and August 1st, with plenty of cool balloons on display, food, camping, live music, and so much more! The Oneida County Fair kicks off July 30th at Pioneer Park, Rhinelander, with all the traditional summertime fun, carnival rides, vendor booths, and plenty of fair food! Saturday, August 15th, check out the dragon boat races at Torpy Park, Minocqua, from 9 am to 4 pm. The event is free for spectators and is a major fundraiser supporting the Howard Young Foundation. So, get out and enjoy what we have left of Summer, before you know it, the leaves will be falling….then, Snow! – Larry
